I dig the Outdoor Alliance's slogan: "Protect Your Passion, Take Action."
It really is all about protecting the natural world, but also the places and activities that keep us motivated to get up for early morning alpine starts. Without them, life would feel quite a bit more empty. This short video by the Alliance reminds us energy and climate isn't (in the elequent words of Conrad Anker) something to blow off.
The places we play in are changing rapidly. In Alaska and Montana, glaciers are receding if not disappearing, insects are devouring our forests in Yellowstone, and the Colorado River is running dry. These changing places are not only important for recreation, they are home to wildlife, they provide the water we drink and cleanse the air we breathe. And climate change is screwing it all up.
Want to do something about it? Want Congress to do something about it? Let them know you want greenhouse gas emissions capped and natural places protected. It’s easy. Just go to outdooralliance.com/. A couple minutes of your time can make a difference.
