This past weekend, I conned a friend of mine into running the majority of the Teton Crest Trail with me. I told her it was going to be a pretty mellow 25 miles-ish (ended up being 27.8) and that we'd even take JHMR's Tram to cut out the first several thousand feet of running. Needless to say, the first 15 miles were great. Beautiful weather, dry trail, easy-to-find signage and scenery that would give Ansel Adams a cardiac arrest.
Indeed, the first 15 miles were fabulous. The real pain set in upon realizing at mile fifteen that we still had 13 more miserable ones in front of us...
Thanks Sheila for being a good sport. (although I doubt you'll ever run with me again...)
