It’s been about four years since Sacha Baron Cohen’s movie Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan was in theaters, but Kazakhs are still bitter.
One of the country’s filmmakers, Erkin Rakishev, is making a movie in response to Borat, which is intended to combat bad press from the film, according to the The AtlanticWire. The movie is called My Brother Borat and focuses on an imaginary sibling who is talking up the country to a prospective American visitor. The video above features an interview with the filmmaker from the set, and as you’ll see, Kazakhstan’s rep is safe in Rakishev’s hands.
“Our goal is to show the real Kazakhstan,” Rakishev is quoted in a statement. “Hollywood, Twentieth Century Fox and Borat–I’ll eat them alive. We might even shoot more films about Borat, who has a big crazy family. Let them sue me.”
