Upper Berry Creek Cabin :: Feb 2009 from Chris Dickey on Vimeo.

Thursday, February 26 I received a mid-afternoon text message inviting me to join four others on a ski tour to a remote log cabin in the Upper Berry Creek of Grand Teton National Park. The cabin, well stocked with wood, proprane and amenities is little known about because of the fact that it lies in the far northern reaches of the Park, is located twelve miles from any road (assuming you shortcut across a frozen lake) and is not available to the public. Owned by the National Park, we were escorted to the cabin by a park employee—whom we in turn thanked by breaking trail. After receiving the text message, I promptly cancelled all Friday work engagements and sent the following email to my colleagues:

Three hours ago a buddy called me and asked if I wanted to fill a recently vacant spot in a ski trip to a remote log cabin owned and operated by the National Park service in the north end of Grand Teton NP. If I was a stronger person I would have declined.

Talk to you all Monday. C.

PS. And no... I will have NO access to cell or email. So don't try - ha!

The rest speaks for itself...
